We were on a beach trip that was blessedly inexpensive, thanks to our gracious host, but it’s impossible not to think about costs on any vacation. In a group, everyone’s budgets and priorities run the gamut, and it can feel taboo to bring it up.
Even those of us who work in travel – especially those of us who work in travel – grapple with how on earth we’ll afford our next adventure. The amount I write about travel is substantially higher than the number of annual trips I actually take.
