I can’t stop playing games on my phone

If you woke up this morning and realized you still need a Valentine’s Day gift, a NYT games subscription is the perfect last-minute choice — because nothing says “I love you” like a little friendly competition.

One of my favorite parts of the day is playing on my phone. By that, I mean playing the Wordle, Connections, Mini crossword and the rest of the New York Times games. My friends and I also have a group chat, which we use to share our results daily. I was using the free version for a while until my boyfriend gifted me a year’s worth of the NYT games subscription — and it’s probably one of my favorite gifts I’ve ever received.

Right now, the free version only gives access to today’s Wordle, Connections and Strands puzzles. For just $50 a year, a full games subscription will get you access to all of the free games, plus both the daily mini and full-sized crosswords, Spelling Bee puzzle and more. You can also access the full archives of most games, going all the way back to 2016. So, you’re basically getting access to 10 years' worth of games for just $50.
