The U.S. Census Bureau today released updates to QWI Explorer and the LED Extraction Tool to enable access to the expanded Quarterly Workforce Indicators (QWI) industry detail at the state level.
These tools now allow users to query and visualize NAICS 5-digit Industry and NAICS 6-digit National Industry tabulations in line charts, bar charts, and thematic maps. The QWI Explorer dashboard allows for the construction of pivot tables to compare and rank labor-force indicators such as employment, job creation and destruction, wages, and hires with unprecedented industry detail.
Potential new analyses include a longitudinal look at wages across all 39 NAICS 6-digit Health Care industries in a particular state or comparing hiring levels across all states and firm ages by a detailed manufacturing industry, such as Construction Machinery Manufacturing.

More About Quarterly Workforce Indicators
The QWI are a set of economic indicators including employment, job creation, earnings, and other measures of employment flows. The QWI are reported based on detailed firm characteristics (geography, industry, age, size) and worker demographics (sex, age, education, race, ethnicity) and are available tabulated to national, state, metropolitan/micropolitan areas, county, and Workforce Investment Board areas.
