You’ll no longer pay any platform fees to use BackaBuddy — which means more of every donation goes directly to your cause. Only standard third-party payment processing fees still apply.

To ensure we can continue offering secure, reliable crowdfunding tools, donors now have the option to add a voluntary tip to BackaBuddy at checkout.

Getting Started with BackaBuddy: Covers everything you need for a successful campaign setup, from choosing a campaign name and target to crafting an engaging story and video.

Sharing Your Campaign: Shows you how to spread the word—starting with reaching out to friends and family, then expanding to social media and the press—to help you attract more supporters.

Editing and Managing Your Campaign: Helps you keep your campaign updated and to make any changes, with instructions on adding updates, editing content, changing images, adding videos, inviting team members, and more.

Activating the Donate Button: Explains how to activate your donate button if it’s greyed out, so supporters can easily contribute to your cause.
- Verification and Payout Process: Ensures everything is ready for your funds to be paid out. Once you’ve received your first donation, you can begin verification by adding banking details, submitting supporting documents, and completing the required vetting—payouts can only occur once vetting is complete. (Please note this does not apply to individuals raising money for a charity).
More Information on the Verification and Payout Process:
- Funds Paid Directly to Your Personal Bank Account: For campaigns where funds go directly to your bank account, log in to your profile and submit the necessary documents to enable payout. Verification can only begin once you’ve received your first donation. After submitting documents, please allow 3–5 days for review and approval.
- Funds Paid Directly to Relevant Institutions (Blue Tick): For campaigns where funds are sent directly to institutions on your behalf, upload required invoices during the Payout Request steps for verification and processing.
- Funds raised by individuals for a Charity: For campaigns raising funds for a charity, the funds will be paid directly to the relevant charity.
- Please allow up to 5 working days for your payout to be processed.
