Dear aaa,
Because of you, 2026 began with second chances.
Rocky and Sunny in Pakistan. Tajmir in Europe.
Three animals who once knew pain, confinement and uncertainty – now experiencing safety, care and hope.
None of this would have been possible without you.
In this month’s update, you’ll see the difference your compassion has already made –and how, together, we can create even greater change for animals trapped in the meat and fur industries. |

From Misery to Recovery: Rocky & Sunny
When FOUR PAWS urgently called for help to rescue two abused bears in Pakistan, you answered.
Rocky and Sunny had endured years of suffering for human entertainment. Today, they are safe at the Islamabad Wildlife Management Board (IWMB) Rescue and Rehabilitation Centre – beginning to experience what it means to simply be bears.
And the transformation is remarkable.
Sunny has been carefully introduced to another rescued bear, Laila. After a gradual, expert-led process, the two are now successfully socialised – a huge milestone for a bear with such a traumatic past.
Rocky’s journey looks different. He will continue living independently for now, giving him the time and space he needs to heal. His caretakers are slowly building trust – often using his love of food to create positive interactions.
Their trauma does not disappear overnight.
But every calm moment. Every sign of curiosity. Every step forward is because you made their rescue possible. |

Tajmir’s New Chapter at FELIDA
Last September, you helped us transfer Tajmir from Zoo Liberec – where he could only stay temporarily after being rescued from horrible private conditions in Czechia – to his forever home at FELIDA Big Cat Sanctuary in the Netherlands.
Now safe at FELIDA, Tajmir is receiving comprehensive veterinary care. A recent check revealed mild degenerative changes in his spine – common in senior tigers with complex histories. He also underwent surgery to remove a severely infected, broken tooth, preventing further complications.
Most importantly: he is finally where he belongs. In a sanctuary designed for healing.
Your support didn’t just move Tajmir across borders.
It moved him toward comfort, dignity and lifelong care.

Eating the Future - Bring Change to Your Community
Real change doesn’t just happen in parliaments.
It happens around kitchen tables, in classrooms, and in community halls.
Our award-winning documentary Eating the Future exposes the hidden costs of our meat-reliant diet – and highlights sustainable alternatives.
Its impact grows every time someone watches it.
By hosting a screening for friends, family, a school project or your local community, you can spark meaningful conversations and inspire practical change.
We’ll provide free access to the film (English, German or French) and promotional materials – all you need is the space and the willingness to start the discussion.

Lastly, we leave you with our photo of the month; Bear Florencia patiently awaits transfer from the former zoo in Argentina. Stay tuned for more updates coming soon.
Together, we are building a future where animals are treated with respect, compassion and dignity.
And 2026 is only just beginning. |
