The Reverend Jesse Jackson left us a few days ago, sadly. Below, I offer some personal thoughts on his importance, and drew this above, hoping to capture him in a line. But first some breaking Epstein news: The man formerly known as Prince Andrew has been arrested “on misconduct in public office” because of his involvement with Jeffrey Epstein. Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, the younger brother of King Charles III, was stripped of his title as prince last year over his ties to Epstein. King Charles said he supported a “full, fair and proper process” regarding the investigation of his brother, adding that he backs the authorities involved: “In this, as I have said before, they have our full and wholehearted support and cooperation. Let me state clearly: the law must take its course.” This arrest is over misconduct sharing classified files, not over sexual contact with a minor or rape. In Britain, this an offense that carries a maximum sentence of life imprisonment. Virginia Roberts Giuffre, one of Epstein’s victims, said he had trafficked her to Andrew around 2001, when she was a teenager, and that he had sex with her multiple times. In 2022, he paid Giuffre an undisclosed sum to settle a lawsuit in a New York court in which she said he had raped and sexually abused her when she was 17. Andrew has denied any wrongdoing. The US military is positioned for an attack on Iran, presumably with the help of Israel. Diplomatic talks are ongoing; Trump has not said what he’s going to do. Trump has repeatedly demanded that Iran give up its nuclear program; Iran wants to find a diplomatic solution. I can’t help but think that this is all about the Epstein files. Jeffrey Epstein traveled in and set up a massive global network of politicians, financiers, and academics; Israel is very much a part of that network. Of course, Trump campaigned on keeping the US out of wars, and he has done nothing but engage and threaten militarily. Trump operates on whim and greed and ego. The specter of police taking a member of the royal family into custody underscores how seriously the British authorities were taking the revelations in the Epstein files. As we all know the Epstein files have created a lot of headlines here, and some who have been named in the files have resigned their positions. But there has been no police activity in the United States on this: the Department of Justice is corrupt, and deeply controlled by a man who has been mentioned in the files thousands of times. The family of Virginia Roberts Giuffre released a statement: “At last. Today, our broken hearts have been lifted at the news that no one is above the law, not even royalty.” I can’t help hoping that the arrest of Andrew will be a catalyst that will lead to more action, force our country to do more. But I don’t know, because we still have large number of Republican lawmakers who refuse to get a backbone. Today’s edition of Deeper Seeing for paid subscribers, below, is my tribute to the Reverend Jesse Jackson. I would love to hear your thoughts and memories about him. Thanks for being here...
