A Message from the PTA President
Dear Hunt Valley Families,
I’m so excited to announce that the mural in the school lobby will be finished this week! It has turned out beautifully and is such a wonderful, colorful addition to our main hallway. Are you looking for a reason to stop in to check it out? Friday evening the school will be holding our annual Spelling Bee, along with an awards ceremony for our Reflections Art Contest winners. Please join us to cheer on our Reflections participants, support the spellers, and snap a pic of your student in front of the mural! A special thank you goes out to Kate Johnson, our PTA VP, for leading the effort to fundraise and organize the mural project. Thanks Kate!

Spelling Bee & Reflections Awards Ceremony Tomorrow!
Hunt Valley Spelling Bee will take place in the Cafeteria on Friday, February 20, 2026, 6:00–8:00PM. The winner will advance to the Fairfax County Spelling Bee, held at Lake Braddock Secondary School on March 22.

PTA will also be holding an awards ceremony for our Reflections Art Contest participants at the start of the Spelling Bee, beginning promptly at 6PM. All participants’ art work is currently on display in the glass display case in the lobby of the school. Parents/guardians of participants should check their email for an RSVP request for their student artist.
And an EXTRA CONGRATULATIONS to students Dax Douglass and Connor Huber whose photography entries took first place in their category at the County competition. Their photos will advance to the Virginia PTA state level competition. Great job, artists!!!

STEAM/Science Fair - March 18
Our STEAM Coordinator and Science Fair Coordinator will need volunteer assistance with the execution of this year’s combined STEAM/Science Fair. This event will be a partnership between PTA and the school. Please save the date and consider volunteering a little time to help make this amazing event a success! Email sciencefair@huntvalleypta.org with questions.
Positions for next school year
PTA is already planning for the 2026-2027 school year. There are MANY ways to be involved, from an elected position on the PTA Executive Board, to Coordinator positions for different events or areas. Please reach out to info@huntvalleypta.org if you're able to help support your PTA and would like to get more info. If you were a Chair/Coordinator this year and would like to continue next year, please let us know so we can mark that position as filled.
