When Premier François Legault announced he would be stepping down, he promised to still govern and exercise leadership. Quebec’s medical specialists expected that to mean an impasse with the government over salary hikes would disappear.
But on the same day the Fédération des médecins spécialistes du Québec warned of future, unspecified pressure tactics, Legault made it clear Quebec’s treasury has limits, The Gazette’s Philip Authier reports.
