Spotswood resident Clarke Towson got tired of sitting in traffic on the West Gate Bridge, so he did something about it.

He set up a public livestream camera of the bridge from his property 1.2km away, to give commuters all the information they'll need in real time.

"If they want to leave now or leave later, what are the traffic conditions like, should [they] go now or should [they] wait?" he told Sharnelle and Bob on Breakfast.
