It's Tuesday in New York City, where things are more or less returning to normal after a blizzard dumped up to 24 inches of snow in certain neighborhoods, creating something of a Narnia on the Hudson.
Transit agencies are operating, some with modified schedules.
Mayor Zohran Mamdani said no one has so far died on the city’s streets during this blizzard, while outreach teams brought more than 160 New Yorkers inside over the last two days.
Contractors said the main problem is “ice damming,” where melted snow turns to thick ice that seals gutters and drainage areas. Those dams force melted snow to pool on rooftops and refreeze, or stream into attics and ceilings.
