Dark Star Park and the Birth of

Arlington's Public Art Program

 

Join us on Thursday, March 12, 2026, 7:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. for Dark Star Park and the Birth of Arlington’s Public Art Program, presented by the Arlington Historical Society. The program features Angela A. Adams, Founding Director of Arlington Public Art, who will discuss the creation, stewardship and legacy of Dark Star Park by Nancy Holt and how it inspired more than 40 years of commitment to public art as placemaking. The presentation will include a screening of Holt’s film, “Art in the Public Eye: The Making of Dark Star Park.”

The program will be held in person at Marymount University’s Main Campus, Reinsch Library Auditorium, 2807 N. Glebe Rd. and virtually.
