There's a fit older guy I see at our gym all the time. Keeps to himself.

Yesterday, he came up to me and asked why I was doing cable rows the way I do.

After showing him - he says:

Thanks... you a trainer or something?

I told him I was. Asked him how he stays in such great shape.

At SEVENTY-ONE he goes for a 5km walk daily. Lifts 3 or 4 days per week.

Retired firefighter.

I told him I knew 70 year-olds who didn't move anything like how he does.

Must really start to go one of two directions after 70, eh?

Oh - it starts WAY before that, he laughed.

Apparently even 30 years ago he saw his friends start to go down a path.

You have kids, life gets busy, and things change fast.

And it does NOT get any easier as you get older.

My advice to you - he said - never stop what you're doing.

And if you do... start again as soon as possible.

Inspiring chap. Goals, really. Glad I finally got to meet him.

Got me thinking about the folks we work with inside 1:1 coaching.

They don't have 2 hours a day to lift.

They can't be bothered with some bullshit diet.

But if you pick the path of doing nothing... the next few years get hairy, fast.

That's why I design the training plans based around each individual person.

Your life. Your goals. Your schedule.

This next 10 years will pass either way.

Where will you be at the end of it?
