Today We Remember
On this day in 1836, the battle of the Alamo inscribed the names of the 189 Texian defenders into our history forever. In particular, Crockett, Bowie, Travis, and Dickinson serve as an inspiration for freedom loving people around the globe. As we walk our museum today surrounded by the papers and artifacts of these heroes, we are saying special thanks for their bravery, struggle, and sacrifice for Texas. They knew all was lost, and still they persevered.
Come for a visit, and see up close the Alamo Sacristy Doors that provided protection for the women and children of the Alamo during the battle. Study the famous scrawls of the sentinels of our Texas Heritage, and remember the Alamo!
