Dear Belle View Families,
This week, we proudly hosted our first annual Spelling Bee, and it was a wonderful success! Our students did an incredible job demonstrating their hard work, courage, and perseverance as they took the stage. Participating in a spelling bee takes confidence, and we are so proud of every student who challenged themselves and gave it their best effort. Thank you to our amazing PTA for helping bring this exciting event to Belle View and for supporting opportunities that celebrate student learning and achievement. Betty was our champion, and Tyson was our runner-up! Congrats to all who participated.
Next week is shaping up to be a very busy and exciting one for our school community! Our Book Fair will be open all week, giving students plenty of opportunities to browse and discover new books they are excited to read. We will also be hosting two family events and hope to see many of you there. On Tuesday evening from 5:30–7:00 p.m., we will hold our Family Literacy Night. The Book Fair will be open for shopping, pizza will be provided, and our grade-level teams will be hosting engaging activities, games, and sharing helpful strategies families can use to support reading at home. It promises to be a fun and informative evening for everyone.
Then on Thursday evening, the Book Fair will reopen for additional shopping opportunities. Families can also enjoy convenient pre order Chic-fil-A using this link bit.ly/2026BookDinner while they browse and support our school’s love of reading.
Behind the scenes this week, our ESOL team has been working tirelessly to complete our annual WIDA testing for multilingual learners. This is a significant undertaking, as each student is assessed in four language domains—reading, listening, writing, and speaking. In total, our team successfully tested 109 students, which requires careful coordination and a tremendous amount of time and dedication. We are so grateful for their commitment to ensuring our multilingual students have the opportunity to demonstrate their language growth. We will receive the official scores in a few months, and we are optimistic and excited to see the tremendous progress our students have made this year.
Have a great weekend, and I will see you around the View! |
