Al Zuckerman, the legendary literary agent who founded Writers House in 1973, has died at 94. Digital distribution company Bookwire is partnering with ElevenLabs to offer AI-powered audiobook production to its client publishers. We talked with Rich Thomas of HarperCollins Children’s Books about the division’s centennial and its roster of influential authors including Margaret Wise Brown, Arnold Lobel, Maurice Sendak, and E.B. White. Author Amy Griffin has been sued by a former classmate alleging that elements of her 2025 memoir The Tell were based on the classmate’s experiences, per the New York Times. Maria Shriver’s Open Field imprint at PRH has set a publication date for actor Eric Dane’s posthumous memoir, People reports. Writers House Founder Al Zuckerman Dies at 94
Launched in 1973, Writers House was one of the first modern literary agencies, modeled on Zuckerman’s belief that agents should be creative and business partners for authors, and now has more than 20 agents, 50 employees, and hundreds of high-profile clients. Zuckerman died on March 5 of natural causes. more »
