This month, we honor Women’s History Month by celebrating women past and present. From Elizabeth Cady Stanton, a leader in the fight for women’s rights, to Serena Williams, who redefined excellence in sports, and Emma Watson, who advocates for equality around the world—these women inspire us to lead, create, and stand up for what’s right.

Last weekend, West Potomac band had a handful of students audition for the VBODA All-State event. To even be invited to audition for this event is a huge deal, and all participating students should be commended on a job well done!!

Results have just been released, and Mr. Antonucci was excited to share that 5 students from West Potomac placed in an All-State ensemble and one designated as an alternate (in a ridiculously competitive section)!  Congratulations Wolverines!

School News

National School Social Work Week

A big thanks to our Social Workers: Aimee Convery, Jennifer Spears, and Karina Villegas for all they do for our students.

March 2-8 is National School Social Work Week. Social workers in FCPS help to prevent social, emotional, and behavioral factors from affecting a student's ability to perform at their best. Their primary goal is to remove barriers that prevent a student from fulfilling their academic potential. Social workers are assigned to every school and center in the school system. Most social workers serve one to two sites. Learn more about the role of social workers in FCPS.
