Around the World Heritage Night, March 26

Heritage Night will be held on March 26, from 5:30–7:30 p.m. More than just an event, this is a celebration of the cultures and stories that define our community. We invite you to showcase your family's traditions! Please visit our sign-up form by March 13 to register to share a dish or game with the community.

Daylight Saving Begins (Spring Forward)

Daylight saving time will begin Sunday, March 8, at 2 a.m. Don’t forget to move your clocks ahead one hour!

Our Oak View stars brought the streets of New York to life with an unforgettable, high-energy performance of "Newsies Jr." We are so proud of the hard work and "seize the day" spirit our young performers displayed on stage!


Kindergarten Orientation

Oak View ES will be hosting Kindergarten Orientation on Friday, April 10, from 9 - 10 a.m. Kindergarten teachers will host students and parents/guardians at the meeting and share information about what to expect and what students will learn. We can't wait to welcome our newest Eagles! Please use this Orientation RSVP form to RSVP for orientation.


Field Trips & Cell Phones

As you prepare your child(ren) for upcoming field trips, please keep in mind that the FCPS cell phone and personal electronics policy applies not only during the school day in our building, but also while students are participating in field trips.

In accordance with FCPS policy, cell phones and cell phone accessories must be off and away for the duration of field trips, as field trips are considered part of the instructional day.

We appreciate your support in reviewing this expectation with your child(ren) before each trip so that students are clear and ready to focus on the learning experience.

Special Education Family Conference

Join us for the 2026 Special Education Family Conference, Stronger Together: Connecting Families and Schools. It will be held on April 18 from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Marshall High School.

Hear from internationally renowned educator and advocate Dr. Shelley Moore, connect with helpful resources, meet other families, and take part in engaging sessions.  Childcare, accommodations, and language interpretation are available.
