The Sunshine Scoop

Book Fair

Dear Families,

Students and staff have enjoyed a fun book fair this week. We want to thank Mrs. Simpson and all of the parent volunteers that made it such a success.

As we move into spring, we hope you can join us for a lineup of fantastic PTA events: Pizza Bingo (March 13), the LA5K and Sun Run (April 12), STEAM Fair (April 22) and International Night (May 1).

Finally, we continue to grow our Community Food Pantry to provide food for food insecure families in our community. The most needed items are cheerios, shelf stable milk, beans, flour, pasta sauce, Masaca flour, tuna, toothpaste, oil and oatmeal. If you would like to donate, items can be purchased through Amazon or purchased and brought to the front office. Thank you for your support.

Sincerely,

Liz Noto and Jennifer Condra

Bike Safety in PE Class

We are excited to announce that our Bike Riding Unit will be starting in PE for our K-6 students! The unit will run from March 9 to March 27, giving students a great opportunity to learn and practice bike safety while having fun.

Safety is our top priority! To ensure all students stay safe, we will provide hairnets and helmets and teach proper bike safety skills throughout the unit.

Here are a few important reminders to help your child be prepared:

Helmets: Students may bring their own helmets if they prefer. For those with longer hair, please style it in a way that allows the helmet to fit properly (e.g., a low ponytail instead of a high one).

Shoes & Clothing: For safety reasons, students should wear closed-toe shoes (no sandals or crocs) and avoid long dresses or overly baggy clothing that could get caught in the bike chain.

We appreciate your support in helping your child have a great experience! If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out.

Coach Patrizio: jpatrizio@fcps.edu

Coach Worsham: rlworsham@fcps.edu

We are looking forward to a fun and safe biking unit!

Arrival Safety

For the safety of all students and staff, do not drop off students at Walker Door 11. This entrance is designated for walkers only and is not supervised for car drop-off. All students being dropped off by car must use the designated Kiss and Ride lane to ensure a safe and orderly arrival process.

Cunningham Park Craft Fair

Cunningham Park Elementary School is excited to host their Inaugural Craft Fair on Saturday, March 14 from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

We invite you to join for a morning of shopping and support the talented Region 1 Staff Crafters as they showcase and sell a variety of handmade items. It’s a wonderful opportunity to shop local, find unique gifts, and celebrate creativity within our school community.
