There’s something about magnolias that feels very calm and grounded to me. I remember we had some big ones in the garden of my family home. Big soft petals, simple shapes, which is why I chose it for your next floral calligraphy worksheet (#3)! And if I’m being honest, I’ve been leaning on these worksheets a little myself lately. I originally started making them because I enjoy designing them for you, but I’ve realised I’m actually enjoying using them too! Sitting down for ten or fifteen minutes, focusing on the strokes, and letting your mind settle for a bit can be surprisingly restorative. Life can feel busy and uncertain at times, and our brains are very good at worrying about what’s next. So sometimes it’s nice to have something simple and creative to come back to. Just a few quiet minutes with your iPad and a beautiful word to write. With this worksheet I’ve also included a short walkthrough video where I demonstrate how the strokes connect and how to use the pressure sensitivity in the brush. I know many of you are still getting comfortable with thick and thin strokes, so seeing the worksheet in action with voice-over instructions should make the process feel clearer. So here’s what you’ll need:→ Written Instructions + Download Links → Video Walkthrough Even if you watch the video, keep the written guide handy, that’s where the download links live. And of course, if you find yourself enjoying this style of lettering and want to go deeper with it, I do teach the full system inside my iPad Calligraphy from Scratch program. But for now, I hope this worksheet simply gives you a few peaceful minutes of creative practice. Happy practicing, P.S. If you’d like to practice with this Magnolia worksheet, make sure to grab it sooner rather than later. The free version will only be available until Sunday. P.P.S. You might notice the Magnolia illustration on the cover of the worksheet. I drew that in Procreate, and I’ll be showing you how to create it in an upcoming video |
