Esca is a harmful fungal trunk disease threatening vineyards across Luxembourg’s Mosel Valley. Using drone-based remote sensing, an innovative programme called MonESCA has transformed five years of regional data analysis into training and guidelines so that winegrowers can put in place measures to protect their vines.

The flash report from the 3^rd EU CAP Network workshop ‘Networking for innovation and knowledge exchange’, held on 11 & 12 February 2026 in Jūrmala, Latvia, is now available. Pollinators, AI and climate-resilient sunflowers: the HelEx project

Sunflowers are naturally tolerant to drought and heat, but can they do even better? The Horizon Europe project HelEx is exploring varieties that are even more climate resilient. AI helps them identify which plant traits are most attractive to honeybees, hoverflies, and bumblebees. Find out more in Agrinnovation magazine (p.21).

Discover a practice abstract from a Bulgarian Operational Group on developing and applying new methods to improve the reproductive performance of honeybee colonies. The project explored controlled queen breeding, instrumental insemination, early hive heating against Varroa destructor, and digital hive monitoring tools. The EU CAP Network conference ‘Water resilience in agriculture: innovation in practice’ (19–21 May 2026) will bring together 300 participants from across the EU to share new practical solutions to strengthen water resilience in agriculture and forestry. Field-tested results and promising new approaches developed by Operational Groups, Horizon projects, and others will be shared through interactive workshops and an innovation market. The EIP-AGRI project database now includes over 500 projects working on water-related solutions. 

The BovINE knowledge hub provides access to its Catalogue of ‘on farm’ Practice Abstracts. In addition, you can explore 96 BovINE practice abstracts in the EU CAP Network database.
