But first: what's next on our TBR pile

here's the plan

You worked hard enough this week. Let us plan your weekend…

  1. 1.

If you thought that White Lotus trio was toxic, the friends in Apple TV’s Imperfect Women are next-level. The psychological thriller, adapted from the Araminta Hall novel, follows three friends — Nancy (Kate Mara), Mary (Elisabeth Moss), and Eleanor (Kerry Washington) — who seem to live maddeningly perfect lives. But when Nancy is murdered, an investigation digs up a tangled web of buried secrets and messy betrayals. Turns out, they know much less about each other (and their illicit affairs) than they once thought.

  2. 2.

Does spring cleaning your closet inevitably end in a mess (literally and figuratively)? You’re probably skipping this painfully obvious yet extremely underrated step

  3. 3.

Whether you’re headed to Costco for your usual haul or to pick up this new “unbelievably soft and delicious” lemon dessert, these are the things you absolutely, positively should not do, according to employees and fellow shoppers. (We’re definitely guilty of the last one.)

  4. 4.

Think you’re not into sci-fi? Project Hail Mary might change your mind. In the film version of the wildly popular novel by Andy Weir (of The Martian fame), Ryan Gosling plays a science teacher turned unwilling hero who wakes up alone on a spaceship, with no memory of why he’s there. But his mission soon becomes clear: to save humanity (no pressure). The movie is being billed as part space epic, part intergalactic buddy comedy, so come for Gosling’s beard, stay for his chemistry with an alien.

  5. 5.

The best time to start listening to Good Hang with Amy Poehler — basically, antianxiety medication in podcast form — was last year. The second best time? Now. Season two of the Golden Globe-winning podcast just launched with Viola Davis, who shared everything from her one requirement for sex scene partners (we promise, it’s not what you think) to what she was “reluctant” to call Meryl Streep out for while filming Doubt (honestly, fair).

Reese’s Egg Season has arrived. The obvious question: Which is the superior shape?

My Non-Negotiables

Happy (almost) weekend. Back in January, I declared 2026 my Year of Hobbies™ — and honestly, it’s been going pretty well (probably thanks to this happy side effect). Here’s how I’m making time for them this weekend:

  • Ever since my friends and I took a mahjong lesson with So Bam Fun, we’ve been scheduling regular games. So naturally, I’ve gone down the rabbit hole on cute new tiles to buy. I’m torn between this whimsical hand-painted set and a floating game table that has pool day written all over it.

  • I’m obsessed with puzzles, and I’m finally tackling this frame-worthy one that’s been collecting dust in my closet. If you don’t have a spare table to take over (same), this genius storage trick lets you stash your half-finished puzzles without losing your progress — or a single piece.

  • Reading is my one lifelong hobby, and this weekend, I’ll start this spicy Ali Hazelwood romance (recommended by a member in our Skimm+ chat). I’ll also revisit Little One by Olivia Muenter ahead of our live Off the Page event with her next week. Haven’t RSVP’d yet? You still can.

  • Every weekend, my kids and I try a new-to-us coffee shop. Yes, we rate them, and yes, we take this very seriously. I give extra points to any place with a London fog on the menu, but this easy DIY version is a close second.

  • Oh, and I’ll learn how to style this Cool Girl-approved trend for spring. It takes two minutes, I already have everything I need, and it promises to make me look like I tried way harder than I did.
