Register for VIP Summer Camp Today!
Register today for the VIP Summer Camp which will be hosted at Rachel Carson Middle School from July 1st to July 30th.
VIP Camp is for rising 7th and rising 8th grade students attending Carson, Hughes, Herndon, Longfellow, and Cooper Middle School. Camp costs $100 and includes breakfast, lunch, and transportation. Activities include basketball, soccer, cooking, theatre, STEAM, and weekly field trips.

Night Hawk
Make Game Day Happen at Herndon Middle! Our after-school intramural program is going strong—and we need referees to keep the games fun, fair, and active!
Thursdays from 3:15–4:50 PM (Basketball, Futsal, Volleyball)
Step in, give back, and support our student-athletes while building school spirit and community.
Volunteers welcome:• Community members• FCPS high school students• FCPS staff (paid opportunity available)
Futsal Note: Spanish/English bilingual referees are especially encouraged.

Spring Track & Field
Ready to Hit the Track?
Track & Field season is almost here! Official practices begin Thursday, April 9 - be sure all required paperwork is completed to participate.

Want to warm up before the season starts? Join the Running Club during Block B of Night Hawk on Thursdays in March! No paperwork needed - just show up and get moving.

Community Outdoor Track Club (Ages 6-18)
Optional, independently run programs offered outside of school for families interested in additional athletic opportunities. These community-based track clubs are separate from the school’s track & field team and provide another way for students to stay active and enjoy the sport in a different setting.

The HMS Food Pantry serves nearly 150 students and families every two weeks. Help keep it stocked by donating through our Amazon Wish List, featuring items most needed by our community. Purchases ship directly to the school, and every donation makes a difference.
