The Real Winners (and Losers) of the 2026 Oscars |
The dust has settled on the 2026 Oscar season, and the winners (One Battle After Another and Sinners, mostly) have been crowned. But before we close this chapter of Oscar history, Little Gold Men takes stock of how everything went—and hands out a few superlatives, breaking down which Oscar campaigns worked and which ones didn’t. See, for instance, the effort from Sinners director Ryan Coogler. But you also didn’t have to win an Oscar to win hearts and minds: While Kate Hudson went home empty-handed, she did remind everyone of the movie star that she is, charming each room she entered this season.
Elsewhere in HWD, Hadley Hall Meares dives into Jane Fonda’s fascinating memoir; the Oscars ditch the Dolby Theatre; Dave Grohl goes to therapy; and, just ahead of Love Story’s finale, we look back at William D. Cohan’s 2019 excerpt, “The Struggle of John F. Kennedy Jr., American Prince.” |
