The Fairfax County Board of Supervisors proclaimed March as Nutrition Month. NCS Director Lloyd Tucker accepted the proclamation at the Board's March 3, 2026, meeting. Nutrition Month is part of a national initiative from the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics that helps people learn how to make informed food choices and develop healthy habits.
Also in March, the Food Access Program marked Child and Adult Care Food Program Week March 15-21. NCS is proud to be a part of this USDA program that helps provide high-quality food and snacks to licensed Fairfax County in-home child care programs. More than 95,000 children in Virginia are served annually by the CACFP.
