Hey, movie fans!

Were you among the masses of people who went to see “Project Hail Mary” last weekend? It became a rare outright hit for Amazon MGM Studios, which has been spending a lot of money on star-laden releases like “After the Hunt” (with Julia Roberts) and “Crime 101” (with Chris Hemsworth and Halle Berry).

“Project Hail Mary” places much of its running time on the shoulders of both Ryan Gosling and a rock alien creature named Rocky. The directing team behind the movie, Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, spoke to us about how “Project Hail Mary” came together and what lessons the two learned after being dismissed from another high-profile project, “Solo: A Star Wars Story.”

Elsewhere in the movie world, Rob Reiner’s “Stand by Me,” based on the Stephen King novella “The Body,” is turning 40 this year. One of that film’s stars, Wil Wheaton, is touring the country for anniversary screenings, and he recently narrated a new audiobook version of “The Body.” Take an interactive look at scenes from the film and hear clips from Wheaton’s narration here.

Last week marked the loss of one action movie star with wicked moves, Chuck Norris. We looked back at his life in pictures, and reflected on the ways his skills became meme-worthy.

Out this week are a new documentary about the return of BTS, a new female-led, blood-soaked horror action movie from Warner Bros. (on the heels of a female-led, blood soaked horror action movie from Searchlight Pictures last week) and an Israeli drama set in the aftermath of the Oct. 7 attacks.

Enjoy the movies.
