Don't Come to Work on April 16 to Find Citrix is Down?
I'll keep this short — because there isn't much time left.
On April 15, 2026 — just days away — Citrix is permanently switching off all file-based licensing. If your environment has not been migrated to their new cloud-based License Activation Service (LAS), your Citrix platform will stop working. No virtual apps. No desktops. No
NetScaler.
This is not a warning. It's a hard cutoff with no fallback.
⚠️ ARE YOU AT RISK?
If you are running any on-premises Citrix components — CVAD, NetScaler, PVS, WEM, or XenServer — and have not yet registered with LAS, you are at risk of a full service outage on April 16.
Older environments (CVAD 1912, 2203, or earlier) are especially exposed — LAS requires a minimum version upgrade across your entire Citrix stack
before you can even register.
✅ WHAT YOU NEED TO DO
1. Check your current CVAD and License Server versions
2. Confirm outbound connectivity to las.cloud.com:443 is open
3. Register your License Server with Citrix Cloud
4. Validate all products are LAS-activated before April 15
