Play Pickleball. Support Students. Make an Impact.
Dear Educate Fairfax Supporter:
This month, I am reminded of the power of our community to come together in meaningful ways for our students.
From preparing for our first pickleball tournament for Education to celebrating the creativity of students through our Bookmark Art Contest, and seeing the impact of your generosity through initiatives like our recent snack packing event, each moment reflects what is possible when we work together.
Because of your support, FCPS students have greater access to the resources, opportunities, and encouragement they need to learn, grow, and succeed. Thank you for being such an important part of this work.
We encourage you to follow us on social media (LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, X/Twitter), where we share the stories of our grant recipients, along with other inspiring news about what's happening to improve educational outcomes across our school division.
Warm wishes,
Dr. Lynette Henry Executive Director Educate Fairfax

Educate Fairfax is excited to invite you to a new community event that brings together fun, friendly competition, and a meaningful purpose.
On Saturday, April 18, from 1 to 7 p.m., we will host our first Dink & Donate for Education Pickleball Tournament at DTL Annandale (4311 Ravensworth Road, Annandale, VA).
This all-day indoor event welcomes players of every level. Whether you are new to the game or ready for competitive play, there is a place for you on the court.
Social divisions run from 1 to 4 p.m. and competitive divisions from 4 to 7 p.m.

A Small Bookmark with a Big Idea

Some of the most important journeys begin with a book.
A bedtime story, a classroom novel, or a trip to the library can spark imagination, build confidence, and open the door to new possibilities. Those moments help shape future leaders.
That idea is at the heart of the Educate Fairfax Bookmark Art Contest, inspired by the theme “Today’s Reader, Tomorrow’s Leader.”
Students across FCPS are invited to design a bookmark that reflects what reading, creativity, and leadership mean to them. Designs can be created using crayons, markers, colored pencils, or paint and will be judged on creativity, originality, connection to the theme, and effort.
Four winners will be selected and their designs will be printed and shared across schools and the community. Each winner will also receive a $25 gift card.
Entries are due Friday, April 17.
Encourage a student to participate and bring their ideas to life, download instructions and a template here.
Thank You Fairfax!

Thank you to everyone who showed up for our students!
Because of your generosity and willingness to give your time, we packed 600 snack bags for FCPS students ahead of Spring Break, far exceeding our original goal of 400.
Each bag represented a student who headed into the break with one less worry and the support of a caring community behind them.
We were deeply grateful to the volunteers, donors, and partners who made this possible.
Together, we helped ensure every student had what they needed to learn, grow, and succeed.
