FBI Warning
FBI warns of permit phishing scam by fake officials
The FBI has issued a warning about a phishing scam in which criminals pose as city and county officials to target people applying for planning and zoning permits. The attackers use publicly available information to make their emails appear legitimate, referencing actual permit details and officials' names. Victims are asked to pay fees via wire transfer, peer-to-peer payment apps or cryptocurrency. The FBI advises verifying any fee requests directly with local government offices.

Celebrate Diversity Month
Celebrate Diversity Month recognizes and honors the diverse backgrounds, cultures, and perspectives that enrich our communities and workplaces.
Observed annually in April, Celebrate Diversity Month was officially established in 2004 by two diversity-focused organizations, ProGroup Inc. and Diversity Best Practices, who created a proclamation to designate the month. The goal was to move beyond simply acknowledging differences in race, gender, religion, and sexual orientation, and instead foster deeper understanding and authentic inclusion. By dedicating a full month to education and open dialogue, the initiative aims to break down stereotypes and highlight how a wide variety of viewpoints drives innovation and creates a more harmonious society.
