PTSO Meeting Next Week
Monthly PTSO Meeting on Tuesday, April 14th at 7pm
Please join us for our next virtual Woodson PTSO meeting on Tuesday, April 14th at 7 PM. This is a great time to virtually interact with and/or listen to updates from our Principal, Mr. Greata and the PTSO for recaps of recent events, fundraising efforts, and other important Woodson information.

Volunteers Needed for AP Testing
Parent volunteers needed to proctor AP Testing from May 4th-May15th
Woodson High School is in search of parent volunteers and/or recent graduate volunteers for this spring’s AP testing. This is a great opportunity to volunteer during the school day! Training will be provided.
AP exams will take place from May 4th – May 15th. There are two test sessions, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. Morning test sessions require proctors to be present from 7:45 a.m.-11:45 a.m. (approximately). Afternoon test sessions require proctors to be present from 11:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. (approximately).

Final raffle prizes will be awarded at 4 AM, followed by doors opening for departure.

Winter Drumline
Woodson Winter Drumline competed at Fairfax High School
Several Woodson students competed along with Fairfax High School students as part of the Fairfax Combined Indoor Drumline this winter. Their final competition was over spring break at the Atlantic Indoor Association Championships in Hampton, Virginia. Congratulations to all the students on their hard work and great music!
Woodson Young Democrats
Up & Coming Chapter of the Year Award
Members of the Woodson Young Democrats recently attended the Virginia Young Democrats State Convention in Norfolk, where they won the Up & Coming Chapter of the Year Award. Club members earned over 400 volunteer service hours this year, attended more than 50 volunteering events, and knocked on over 1,000 doors. The club also hosted several guest speakers, including House of Delegates Member Dan Helmer, Braddock District Supervisor Rachna Sizemore Heizer and Braddock School Board Representative Tom Dannan.

Woodson Baseball Update
Woodson Varsity Baseball traveled to Greenville, NC during Spring Break to compete in the Pitt County Classic
Woodson Varsity Baseball traveled to Greenville, North Carolina during Spring Break. The Cavs went 4-1 at the Pitt County Classic. They opened with a 12-9 win, then fell 13-2 in their only loss. The team rebounded with an 8-6 victory, using a late five-run inning, and later edged the same opponent 9-8 with a go-ahead run in the sixth. The Cavs finished strong with a dominant 19-5 win. Overall, Woodson showed powerful offense, patience at the plate, aggressive baserunning, and the ability to respond after setbacks.
The Cavs face Robinson this week- away on Tuesday and home on Thursday, welcoming Little Leaguers at home for a night of fun!
