| Here's an exclusive look inside the MBTA's new Green Line train |
Inside a factory floor in the Southern Tier of New York State, one of the MBTA’s newest trains is taking shape. Only NBC10 Boston was given access inside the CAF factory in Elmira, NY, which is more than 350 miles from Boston. The Spanish-based company is building brand new state-of-the-art Type 10 Green Line trains, which are bigger and more high tech than what’s currently on the rails right now. |

Parents demand change after lacrosse injury highlights gap in MIAA medical rules |
Parents in Ipswich are calling for changes to high school sports safety rules after a varsity lacrosse scrimmage left one player seriously injured — and exposed what they say is a dangerous gap in Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association medical requirements. Seventeen-year-old Tanner Manning was playing in a March scrimmage when he became tangled with an opposing player and went down screaming. “We heard him scream, which was really frightening,” said Estelle Gromko, a Babson College sophomore who was in the stands that day watching her brothers. |

| Why communities across Mass. may soon vote to raise property taxes |
Cities and towns across Massachusetts are dealing with budget shortfalls and looking to tax hikes provided by Prop 2.5 overrides to solve the issue. Arlington, Winchester and Brookline are among the many that are asking or have asked voters to raise property taxes or risk losing city services. “There’s a real push and pull between people wanting these services, but they don’t want to see their taxes go up,” said Greg Maynard with the Boston Policy Institute. |

| U.S. and Iran agree to 2-week ceasefire as Trump pulls back on threats |
Iran, the United States and Israel agreed to a two-week ceasefire, an 11th hour deal that allowed U.S. President Donald Trump to pull back from his threats to unleash a bombing campaign that would destroy Iranian civilization. But attacks in Iran and Gulf Arab countries resumed Wednesday, throwing the deal into question. Even before the new strikes were reported, much about the deal was unclear as the sides presented vastly different visions of the terms. — Iran said the deal would allow it to formalize its new practice of charging ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz, but the terms were not clear, nor was whether ships would feel safe using the crucial transit lane for oil. It also was unclear whether any other country agreed to this condition. |

Lindsay Clancy willing to admit to killing her kids in bid to separate issues at trial |
Lindsay Clancy, the Duxbury, Massachusetts, mom accused of killing her children in 2023, would be willing to admit to her role in their deaths in writing if the issue can be separated from consideration of her criminal responsibility at trial. Clancy, 35, has pleaded not guilty to murder charges brought by the Plymouth District Attorney’s Office over the 2023 deaths of her children: 5-year-old Cora Clancy, 3-year-old Dawson Clancy, and 8-month-old Callan Clancy. Her attorney, Kevin Reddington, had argued for what is known as a “bifurcated trial,” meaning the first part would be to determine whether Clancy is found guilty and the second part would be to determine whether she is criminally responsible. |

We're still chilly today but spring air surges in soon |
There’s no snow today, but we’re still on the chilly side. Bold April sunshine will dominate the sky, but cool air will sweep in from the ocean, capping our high temperatures in the low 40s at the coast and upper 40s away. Tonight sees us plunge back to the upper 20s to low 30s under a clear sky. Tomorrow will mark the turnaround as high temperatures push through the 50s with only a light sea breeze expected later in the day. Still a ton of sun around, too. |
