With the Red Sox off to the worst start in baseball, there’s an air of crisis around the team. A 3-8 start requires a lot to go wrong in a short amount of time.
In turn, that means a lot of work to identify and address persistent shortcomings. What is it like to be a problem-solver for a struggling team?
“Love it. That’s the best part,” said hitting coach Pete Fatse prior to a 3-2 win over the Brewers on Tuesday at Fenway Park. “As much as it stings you to watch some guys go through it, you come out the other side. That’s what we’re in it for. We’re in it for the good, but we’re also in it for the bad — the tough times. You have to embrace that part of it, because it’s not always going to be easy.”
