Good morning Wentyl, Nearly 400 childcare centres across NSW fail to meet national standards, according to the Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA).
Six of the seven worst-performing childcare centres in NSW are located in Greater Western Sydney, while hundreds are reportedly not meeting national quality standards across the state.
Seven per cent of NSW services are reportedly failing to meet the National Quality Standards (NQS), while 74 per cent are meeting NQS and 19 per cent exceed NQS, as of April 14, 2026.
The ACECQA, which sets standards for early childhood education, lists seven centres with its worst rating, all requiring significant improvement for children’s health and safety.
