Dear Beech Tree Families,
Happy Friday! Hope everyone has had a great if unseasonably warm week. We have so much to catch up on!
-Next Tuesday April 21st is Election Day in Virginia. You know what this means for the PTA! It’s Bake Sale time. We need cakes, we need pies, we need pastries, we need all your treats, sweet and savory. Bring us your homemade or store brought treats yearning to be eaten and we will turn them into cold hard cash to spend on things like: music equipment, parenting workshops, book clubs, field trips, and classroom supplies (100% REAL EXAMPLES OF THINGS THE PTA HAS SUPPORTED THIS YEAR ALONE!).
- We also need (desperately) need volunteers to work a shift. Sign up here! Bring your adorable children and have them pitch in. It’s not child labor if you’re there supervising (not legal advice).
-Our next Restaurant Day is Wednesday April 22nd at SCRAMBLE Indoor Play! They are an incredible partner—25% of all sales (including at the café) will be donated to the Beech Tree PTA. Just mention Beech Tree when you pay. Adults are free! Kids cost something, but don’t they always. The food is actually really good. And I can promise you that your kids will be E-X-H-A-U-S-T-E-D afterwards. They will (let you) sleep like a baby.
-Next school year (26-27), Beech Tree is going to make your back-to-school shopping experience so much easier. Unless you are one of those weirdos who like back-to-school supply shopping (I say this lovingly as I married one of those weirdos), this will be an amazing time saver when the end of the summer sneaks up on you like it always does. There is now a virtual store where you can order and pay for your child’s supplies for the next year and they will be delivered to your child's classroom before school starts! How amazing is that!
-Also, Teacher & Staff Appreciation Week! It’s coming! SO soon! Because we love love love our Beech Tree teachers and staff. I shudder to think where we would be without them. They teach our kids. They nurture our kids. They entertain our kids. They feed our kids. They apply ice packs and band-aids. They clean up after them. They counsel them. They do so much throughout the school year, it’s time to celebrate all of them. We sent a flyer home in the Wednesday folders* with info on what you and your kids can do to tell them THANK YOU!
- *Note: the dessert bar and the potluck lunch are reversed on the flyer we sent home. We've already made a corrected version for next week.
-Finally, replacement items for the spirit wear have finally come in and we will be getting them out to the people who didn't receive their items earlier ASAP.
