TRAFFIC ALERT: Planned Road Closures for Weekend of April 25-26, 2026

ARLINGTON, Va. – The Arlington County Police Department will conduct road closures to accommodate two upcoming special events taking place during the weekend of Saturday, April 25 – Sunday, April 26, 2026.

2026 Arlington Festival of the Arts

The 2026 Arlington Festival of the Arts will take place from Saturday, April 25 to Sunday, April 26, 2026. Set-up for the event will begin at approximately 3:00 a.m. on Saturday, and the event will be open both Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.

The following roads will be closed from approximately 3:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 25 through 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 26:

  • Westbound Washington Boulevard, from 10th Street N. to Clarendon Boulevard
  • The left lane of eastbound Washington Boulevard, from Clarendon Boulevard to N. Garfield Street (The right lane will be open to motor vehicle traffic)
  • N. Highland Street, from Clarendon Boulevard to Washington Boulevard (local traffic will be able to access the parking garage for 3100 Clarendon Boulevard from 11th Street N.)

Attendees are encouraged to use the Metro (Clarendon station, Orange and Silver lines) or other multimodal transportation options to reduce vehicular traffic in the area.

2026 Earth Day Every Day Festival

The 2026 Earth Day Every Day Festival will be held on Sunday, April 26, 2026. The following roads will be closed from 6:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on April 26:

  • Cherry Hill Road between N. Woodstock Street and N. Woodrow Street
  • Northbound N. Woodrow Street between 20th Road N. and Cherry Hill Road will be restricted to local traffic only

For All Events

Community members should expect to see an increased police presence in the area, and motorists are urged to follow law enforcement direction, be mindful of closures, and remain alert for increased pedestrian traffic.

Additional closures not mentioned above may be implemented at police discretion in the interest of public safety.

Motorists should be on the lookout for temporary “No Parking” signs and illegally parked vehicles may be ticketed or towed. If your vehicle is towed, please use the online portal to find out the status of your vehicle and where it is located. The online portal is updated in real time. If you cannot locate your vehicle or need additional support using the online portal, call the County non-emergency number at 703-558-2222.
