A message from Principal Steven McFarlane
Kilmer Community,
This has been a busy week of learning at Kilmer! Our 8th graders attended activities fairs at Marshall and Madison on Monday. This was an opportunity for our students to learn about clubs, extracurricular activities, and elective options available to them in high school.
The cast and crew of Once Upon a Mattress, Student Edition, put on an awesome performance for Kilmer students and staff after school on Wednesday. Tickets are still available for purchase for this weekend’s performances. More information can be found below. Be sure to check it out!
Our Kilmer student ambassadors and counselors have been hard at work preparing for visits from our feeder elementary schools. Beginning next week, our student leaders will give tours to rising 7th graders, who will attend Kilmer next year. This is a wonderful way to introduce our future Kilmer Cougars to our school community and all that it has to offer.
Have a wonderful weekend, and as always, reach out with any questions or concerns.
Sincerely,
Steven McFarlane
Principal

Here are just a few of the Positive Referrals received by our Kilmer Cougars from staff members this week!
Connor W., Raya B., and Laila K. - You really showed who you are after Crosstown on Thursday. After a great game (and victory!), while everyone was still celebrating, I looked over and saw the three of you in the stands with me and a handful of others picking up trash and cleaning the bleachers. You weren't asked, you didn't make a big deal of it, but there you were doing the dirty work. Your actions have a significant impact, even when you don't think people are watching. Thanks for all you do!
Asher Z. - Asher has done a tremendous job as a peer helper. He has shown kindness, compassion, and understanding demonstrating strong character.
Addison F. - Thank you so much for helping our guest bring in board games for an afterschool activity.
Bethel A. - Every afternoon, Bethel gets to class early and helps hand out warm ups to all of the students. She also consistently helps to clean up after class. I appreciate her positive attitude and help so much in 7th period science!
