I thought I’d share a New Yorker cartoon of mine set in a baseball stadium, since we are in the season! Baseball is the only sport I watch. When I was little, my father took me to Senators’ games in Washington DC, and I have grown to love the game. Such subtle drama and nuance in the personalities. One of the things I love to do if I go to a game (which is not that often, tbh), is watch the crowd watching the game. In my experience, in New York, it is a terrifically diverse audience, in race, gender, ethnicity and generation. People together, gathering for a time to relax and forget about the world for a few hours. Below is a drawing at Yankee Stadium that I did in 2018 for CBS News. I was thrilled to live draw the team beforehand, draw the players and the practice. And then the game! I will share all the drawings with you at some point. I even got one player to draw on my iPad, it was so fun. I hope you have a very good Sunday. Hang in there, take some time for yourself. See you tomorrow, thank you for being here!
