Hi!
I want to thank everyone who answered the poll last week.
All the lovely feedback really made my day! Also there
were many insightful thoughts that I already added to my
ever-growing todo list. Thank you so much!
Here are some of the most common points and requests that
you shared with me:
-
"More puzzles!" - I have some ideas for
this. First of all, I'm going to introduce a
portal for community puzzles in the future, which will
hopefully provide a large amount of fresh puzzles.
Also, I've been thinking of introducing a daily
easy-medium puzzle. I don't really have the
bandwidth for that right now, but it's something
I'd love to have at some point. Maybe it could be
run by the community, using community puzzles? Just a
thought.
-
"More stats!" - More stats are also coming,
one day. It's not the top thing on my todo list,
but it's coming. Also, many requested separate
stats for perfect solves. I will introduce this too,
since it's been requested so many times, but as
I've explained before: These are not very
interesting. They are quite close to the non-perfect
solves, but slightly FASTER, since if you only look at
the perfect solves, you leave out beginners and only
compare with the best.
-
"Translations!" - These are coming too.
These are quite high up on the todo list. But
there's still a long way to go before making this
possible. At first they will probably be community
driven, so I'll be asking for help once I'm
there!
-
"App!" - I can see the appeal, but this is
not very high on my list. Maybe one day. But until
then, I recommend making a shortcut of the webpage.
It'll look just like an app. Here's how you
do it on
iPhone
and
Android (Chrome).
-
"Don't change too much!" - I
won't! I'm always trying to keep the current
experience untouched, making additional features and
options available for those who look for them, instead
of imposing them on everyone. I also don't intend
to remove anything, or put anything that is currently
free behind a paywall. If you ever feel I'm
violating these principles, please let me know!
Besides these, one recurring feedback was about the
upcoming archive fee. Many of you hate subscriptions, and
requested a one-time fee. I hear you, and I believe I have
an offer you will find very acceptable!
And while on the topic: The daily archive is implemented
and working! A couple of testers already have access, and
I'll be slowly introducing it to the rest of you. My
deadline is to have it publicly running 1st of May, since
that's the official birthday of Clues by Sam! So the
archive will initially contain one year worth of puzzles.
If you can't wait until 1st of May, you can
opt-in for testing new features. This requires an account, but creating one is free and
easy. If you choose to do this, you might (but no
guarantee you will) start seeing features before others,
like the option to purchase archive access. These features
might not yet be fully functional, and I'm hoping you
report any issues you discover to me.
Alright! Enough of that. Let's have a look at last
week's stats! Quite the seesaw. But seesaws are fun,
right? Having a group of people help me curate these
beforehand would help with ordering them better. I wonder
if anyone would be interested in doing that? Top 1% /
10% / 50% solve times, % of perfect solves / % of solves
with no hints.
Mon 2026-04-13 (Easy): 1m 17s / 1m 50s / 3m 9s / 50% / 87% Tue 2026-04-14 (Medium): 1m 52s / 2m 45s / 4m 53s / 51% / 85% Wed 2026-04-15 (Tricky): 2m 49s / 4m 27s / 8m 30s / 28% / 64% Thu 2026-04-16 (Tricky): 2m 7s / 3m 12s / 6m 6s / 43% / 79% Fri 2026-04-17 (Hard): 3m 34s / 5m 54s / 11m 39s / 27% / 56% Sat 2026-04-18 (Hard): 3m 8s / 5m 1s / 9m 15s / 33% / 67% Sun 2026-04-19 (Hard): 3m 39s / 6m 9s / 11m 58s / 17% / 50%
And then the bonus puzzles! There are some new clue types
here, seen only once or twice before. Having new clues
might make them feel trickier than usual, but I think
they're pretty fun. I hope you agree!

We also have more community puzzles. Until I find the time
to publish a portal for these, I'll be sharing links
to reddit threads where friendly community members
maintain a list of puzzles posted there. If you'd
like to have your puzzle also posted there, but don't
use reddit, please send them to me by mail, mentioning
what you think their difficulty might be, and who to
attribute them to.

Last week I forgot to post the link to the previous
week's puzzles, so here's that link as well: https://www.reddit.com/r/CluesBySamHelp/comments/1sey96w/weekly_community_puzzles_april_6april_12_2026/
Finally, I want to apologise for a few minutes of downtime
last week, in case you were affected. There were two
occasions when the page wouldn't load for about 5
minutes. These were caused by two different issues. Both
are now hopefully mitigated. Fingers crossed it won't
happen again!
Now, toward another fantastic week! Happy Monday!
Best, Sam
