Today: It’s flats season, baby! Plus …

Our favorite flats for spring — or anytime, really

A great pair of flats can complement most any outfit, reliably taking you from the office to happy hour, from errands to date night, and just about anywhere else — in comfort and style.

After researching 60 different flats, we put 27 to the test by walking (a lot) and weighing every pair on the all-important comfort-meets-cuteness scale. Ultimately, nine stood out, including a slender pair of Mary Janes, under-$90 ballet flats, and leather mules that won’t slide off your feet.

Plus: Sorry to say, these loafers are truly worth $600

These handmade penny loafers are pricey. But they also have a classic, no-frills silhouette that will never look outdated, even when trends change. (If you really can’t stomach dropping $600 on a pair of shoes, we love this cheaper, classic option, too.)

Unlike other loafers, there’s absolutely zero break-in period: They’re soft fresh out of the box, but with enough heft to still feel supportive. As style editor Jennifer Hunter puts it, the fit is like “wearing your favorite, well-loved bedroom slippers — just about a million times more chic.”

Drying off with this towel feels like a pleasure, thanks to its luxe, soft, and absorbent cotton. Through all our years of testing, it’s still the one we reach for first.

Gift of the week: A pretty (and useful!) print for plant lovers

Fun Fact Co. Companion Planting Infographic Art Print
Fun Fact Co.

This brightly colored print illustrates which veggies, flowers, and plants thrive together. Even if the gardener in your life already knows this stuff, it’s a lovely reminder — and it looks great hanging on a wall.

A sweet Mother’s Day gift, perhaps?→
