The response to yesterday's launch has been incredible. So many of you have already enrolled, and my inbox is full of emails from students who've been waiting for the Idioms Challenge to open again. |
If you haven't joined yet, here's what some of your fellow learners gained from doing the challenge last time I opened it. |
Chiara from Italy had an interesting moment after she completed the challenge. She was watching a documentary and noticed three idioms that she'd learnt during her daily lessons. As she put it:
"It's so satisfying when you immediately get the meaning of something new to you because you've just studied it!"
Emanuela, also from Italy, used to dread learning idioms. The challenge changed that completely for her.
"I was able not only to learn hundreds of idioms in no time but also to enjoy learning them."
Nadya from Bulgaria wasn't sure an online course could really help her with idioms, but after starting the challenge, she felt more confident.
"I really enjoy it since it is interactive, fun, easy to understand and there are stories that you can relate to."
And Macarena from Chile summed it up nicely.
"It's been so much fun and I've been using some idioms on a daily basis. I strongly recommend this challenge if you want to improve your level of English in an entertaining and fast way."

These students come from different countries and different backgrounds, but they all experienced the same thing. They learnt idioms in a way that was enjoyable, effective and actually stuck with them long after the challenge ended. |

If you're wondering what a typical day in the challenge looks like, here's a quick overview:
- Each day you'll get a short lesson on a real-life topic such as work, relationships or other everyday situations.
- You'll watch a video where I read a story with 6-10 idioms in it and break each one down with you.
- You'll also get a downloadable audio file (great for commutes), a mind map showing how the idioms connect and a PDF with the full lesson.
- Then you'll practise with exercises and use the interactive vocabulary bank for pronunciation.
- To finish, you'll get a prompt to use your new idioms in the private course community.
The whole thing takes about 15 minutes. |
Chiara, Emanuela, Nadya and Macarena all started in the same place you're in right now. A bit curious and not quite sure if this was really going to be different from other courses they've tried.
And 30 days later, they were using idioms in real conversations.
