Good morning, Chicago.

The White Sox and Angels sat through a three-hour rain delay Monday evening.

It took some time for the Sox offense to arrive, as well. But much like the storm that preceded the game, the Sox poured it on during a seven-run seventh inning.

Munetaka Murakami hit a go-ahead three-run home run, which was followed by a homer by Miguel Vargas to cap the game-changing inning. The Sox then held off a ninth-inning comeback attempt by the Angels for an 8-7 victory in front of 10,193 at Rate Field.

"These (last) two or three games, we haven’t got in a lot of runs, " Murakami said through an interpreter. "It was important to keep the lineup going, keep the bats going. We did that and I’m really happy we were able to."
