Critical E-Scooter Crash in Rosslyn Now a Fatal CrashARLINGTON, Va. – The Arlington County Police department continues to investigate a now fatal crash involving an e-scooter that occurred on the evening of April 18 in Rosslyn. At approximately 5:32 p.m. on April 18, police and fire were dispatched to the intersection of Langston Boulevard and Fort Myer Drive for the report of a crash involving an e-scooter and a charter bus. The preliminary investigation indicates the driver of the charter bus was turning right onto Langston Boulevard from Fort Myer Drive when he struck the e-scooter operator in the crosswalk. The e-scooter operator, an adult female, was transported to an area hospital with critical injuries. Despite life-saving efforts, on April 26, she succumbed to her injuries at the hospital. She has been identified as Leah Carlomusto, 45, of Arlington, Va. The driver of the charter bus, Luis Barreto Irizarry, 45, of Haines, Fl., remained on scene and was cited at the time of the crash with Failure to Yield and released on a summons.
