We finally tackled that raised garden bed project we have been talking about all spring. The weather cooperated perfectly so we spent Saturday morning building the frame and getting the soil mix ready. I used cedar boards this time since they hold up better against moisture and pests naturally. We planted tomatoes basil peppers and some marigolds around the edge to help with pest control. My neighbor stopped by and gave me some tips about composting that I had not considered before. I am hoping we will have a decent harvest by late August if everything goes well. It was nice to work outside for a change instead of being stuck indoors. Let me know if you want to come by and see it sometime. I also started a small herb section with rosemary and thyme which should do well in the warmer months.
