I was just thinking about that conversation we had last week about gardening. I finally got around to planting those tomato seedlings you recommended and they're already starting to sprout. The weather has been perfect for it honestly — warm days and cool nights. I also tried that fertilizer mix you mentioned and the soil is looking really rich and dark. My neighbor stopped by and gave me some tips about staking them properly so they grow straight. I'm hoping to get a good harvest by August if everything goes well. The basil seeds I planted alongside them are coming up too which is nice because I love making caprese salads in the summer. I'll send you some photos once they're a bit bigger and more photogenic. Right now they're still in that awkward teenage plant phase where they look a bit leggy. Anyway just wanted to share the progress and thank you for the advice.
I also tried that new coffee shop downtown and their cold brew is excellent — really smooth without being bitter. The barista recommended a lavender oat milk latte that I'm going to try next time.

I finally finished reading that book you lent me last month and I have so many thoughts about the ending. I didn't see that plot twist coming at all and I had to go back and reread the last few chapters to make sure I understood what happened. The character development was really well done especially how the author slowly revealed everyone's motivations. I think my favorite part was the chapter about the old lighthouse keeper and his daily routines — it felt so meditative and peaceful. I'm going to return the book to you this weekend if you're around. I also picked up a copy of that other book you mentioned at the library sale so I might start that next. Let me know what you thought of the ending when you get a chance because I'm still processing it and would love to hear your take on it.
Also I finally tried that pasta recipe you sent me and it turned out really well — the sauce was richer than I expected and the whole family loved it. I added a bit more garlic than the recipe called for which I think made it even better.
