Hi Pawe?,
When AI decides which local business to recommend, it is not looking at a single signal. It is building a trust score from multiple sources.
Here is what goes into that score:
Google Business Profile completeness. AI pulls directly from GBP data. Business name, description, categories, hours, service areas, photos. The more complete and accurate your profile, the more confident AI is in referencing you.
Review volume, recency, and quality. AI does not just count stars. It looks at how many reviews you have, how recently they were posted, and what they actually say. A business with 200 reviews from the past year signals active trust. A business with 50 reviews from three years ago signals something different.
Citation consistency. Your name, address, and phone number need to match exactly across every directory, aggregator, and listing. Inconsistencies create uncertainty, and uncertainty makes AI look elsewhere.
Local content and backlinks. Content that demonstrates expertise in a specific market, combined with links from local publications and organizations, tells AI you are a known entity in your area.
Think of these as layers. Each one adds to the confidence AI has when deciding whether to recommend your business. Weaknesses in any layer reduce the overall trust score.
