Arlington Announces Second Round of Digital Equity GrantsArlington County is offering a second round of grant funding to support projects that address barriers to accessing and using technology. Grants are a cornerstone of Arlington’s Digital Equity Initiative, enabling community-driven solutions to the County’s digital divide through partners who deliver on-the-ground support to residents and businesses. “Technology plays a vital role in how residents learn, work, access services, and engage in the world,” said Community Planning, Housing and Development Director Samia Byrd. “As artificial intelligence, data and safety practices, and new digital platforms continue to shape daily life, these grants will help ensure all Arlington residents have the skills and support needed to adapt, pursue their goals, and fully participate in an evolving digital society, advancing the County’s commitment to equity.” Focus areas may differ each grant cycle and are informed by the 2024 Broadband Study and the ongoing work of the Digital Equity Coalition.
