Yeah, I totally get what you mean about the garden. We tried planting tomatoes this year and the squirrels had a field day with them. I ended up putting up a little netting structure which helped a bit, but they still found a way to sneak in. My neighbor suggested getting a fake owl, so I might try that next weekend.
Anyway, the weather has been perfect for being outside, so I can't complain too much. We also started a small herb garden on the porch—basil, mint, and rosemary. It smells amazing every time we walk out there. The mint has gone completely crazy, it's taking over the whole pot. I should probably repot it soon. Let me know if you figure out a good solution for the critters! I'm all ears.

I just finished that book you recommended and wow, I did not see that ending coming at all. The characters were so well written, especially the main protagonist. I found myself staying up way too late on a work night just to read a few more chapters.
Have you read anything else by that author? I was thinking of picking up their earlier series, but I wasn't sure if it holds up. Sometimes debut novels are a bit rough around the edges, you know? But honestly, if it's even half as good as this one, I'd probably enjoy it.
Thanks again for the suggestion! I'm always looking for new stuff to read, so if you have any other hidden gems, send them my way. I'm planning to hit the library this weekend and stock up for the month.
