I had one of those very modern lazy moments.

You know the type.

I wanted a new Home Assistant automation.

Not a big one. Not some sci-fi masterpiece. Just one of those annoying little ideas that sits in your head for days because you do not feel like hunting entity IDs, checking conditions, fixing the thing, breaking the thing, then pretending you meant to do that.

I was not too busy. I was just too lazy to build it the normal way.

So obviously the only logical solution was to let Claude Desktop poke around a test Home Assistant setup through ha-mcp and see what happens.

Which is either a productivity breakthrough...

or the beginning of a very specific support ticket
