Yeah I finally made it to the farmers market last weekend after hearing you talk about it for so long. The variety of produce was incredible and I picked up some really nice heirloom tomatoes and fresh basil. There was a local baker selling sourdough that was still warm when I bought it. I also tried some honey from a small apiary and it has this really distinct floral flavor that I've never tasted before. The whole experience was much more relaxed than I expected not crowded at all in the morning. I'm planning to go again next weekend maybe I'll see you there. Let me know if you want me to grab anything for you while I'm there. Also I finally started that woodworking project I've been talking about for months and it's actually coming together better than I thought. The learning curve is steeper than I expected but it's really satisfying to work with my hands for a change.

I've been experimenting with fermentation lately and I think I finally got the kombucha recipe right. The first batch was way too vinegary but this latest one has a nice balance of sweet and tart. I added some ginger and turmeric and it turned out really well. My neighbor gave me a scoby starter and I've been maintaining it for about two months now. It's actually pretty fascinating how the fermentation process works once you understand the basics. I also tried making kimchi for the first time and it was surprisingly simple though the kitchen smelled like garlic for days afterward. I've been reading a lot about gut health and fermented foods and it motivated me to try making things from scratch. If you're interested I can bring you a bottle of the kombucha to try next time we meet up just let me know what you think.
