Hey, I totally forgot to tell you about what happened yesterday. So I was just sitting on the couch reading, right, and my cat Oliver was sound asleep on the back of the sofa. He does this thing where he twitches his paws when he's dreaming. Anyway, he must have been having a really intense dream because he suddenly rolled right off the back of the sofa and landed on a pile of laundry I had folded on the ottoman. He looked so embarrassed. He immediately got up, gave me this look like "I meant to do that," and then walked away with his tail held super high. I couldn't stop laughing. He didn't come back for like an hour. He's such a goof. ka04OHbCndUHq I had to tell someone because my partner is tired of hearing about the cat's drama, but honestly it was the highlight of my week.

Okay so I finally decided to start a sourdough starter. I've been putting it off for ages because it sounds so high maintenance. I named him Steve. Day one was fine, mixed flour and water. Day two, nothing. Day three, a few bubbles. I was getting hopeful. Day four it smelled like nail polish remover and I was convinced I killed Steve. I nearly threw it out but the internet said to just keep feeding it. So I did. Day five it had doubled in size and smelled like actual bread. I was so proud. I made my first loaf yesterday and honestly it was a bit dense, like a hockey puck, but it was delicious. The crust was amazing. I think Steve and I are going to get along just fine. It's so much more work than just buying bread but it feels like a real accomplishment. Next time I'm going to try adding some rosemary and sea salt on top.
