Hey everyone, I finally finished the book last night. Honestly, I struggled with the first few chapters, but the pacing really picked up around the middle. I loved how the author developed the main character's backstory through those subtle flashbacks. The ending left me with a lot of questions though. I was hoping we could discuss the symbolism of the old house and whether it represented memory or regret. Anyway, I'm really looking forward to our next meeting. Let me know if anyone wants to grab coffee beforehand. I'm free after 3 PM on Saturday. We could meet at that new place downtown if it works for everyone. Also, I started the next book on the list and it seems much lighter so far! Let me know what you all think about the meeting time.

So I spent the better part of last weekend rebuilding the back fence. A storm knocked down a section of it a few weeks ago and I finally got around to replacing the rotted posts. I used pressure-treated lumber this time, so hopefully it holds up better. Digging the post holes was the toughest part. I hit a thick root about two feet down and had to chop through it with an axe. My neighbor came over to help set the posts straight, which was a huge relief because doing it alone is nearly impossible. We poured concrete around the bases and let it set overnight. The new boards look really clean and fresh. I might paint them next spring, but for now, they blend well enough with the rest of the yard. It feels good to have that project checked off the list. Now I can finally focus on planting the new shrubs along the side of the house.
